Aston Carter is working with a financial services client that is seeking to hire a Tax Associate on their growing team! They are seeking candidates with 3+ years of tax experience and knowledge of tax prep software. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in tax for high net worth clients!
Job Description
The Tax Associate will play a key role in supporting various tax-related activities, including tax preparation, tax planning, IRS notice responses, and software initiatives.
Responsibilities
Perform tax preparation tasks, including gathering client information, preparing tax returns, and ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
Develop tax plans and strategies to help clients minimize tax liabilities and achieve their financial goals.
Prepare responses to IRS notices and inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of tax-related issues.
Collaborate with managers on various tax projects, contributing insights and recommendations to enhance client outcomes.
Champion software initiatives such as SurePrep, leveraging technology to streamline tax preparation processes and improve efficiency.
Attend meetings to gain valuable insights and knowledge, serving as a note-taker and providing follow-up support as needed.
Mentor and develop intern staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and capabilities.
Serve as a liaison with regional schools to establish internship programs and recruit top talent to join our team.
Essential Skills:
Expertise in tax preparation, including individual and business tax returns.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax laws.
Experience in tax planning and strategy development.
Proficiency in responding to IRS notices and inquiries.
Ability to collaborate effectively with managers and contribute to tax projects.
Familiarity with tax software tools such as SurePrep.
Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
3-5 years of experience in tax preparation for individuals and/or businesses.
