If you’re ready, we want you to join our Galley Inserts and Chillers team in Lenexa, KS as a Mechanical Engineering Spring/Summer Co-op. We specialize in designing galley insert products and aircraft galley chiller systems for commercial and military programs. If you’re ready to take the jump, your time is now!

This role is onsite, in Lenexa, Kansas.

What YOU will do:

  • You will have access and work with state-of-the-art equipment.

  • You will learn and gain practical experience in a hands-on environment.

  • You will work on projects and programs currently in progress at Collins Interior Systems, which allows the intern to apply knowledge that contributes to the overall business.

  • You will have the opportunity to lead your own portion of a project, design your own circuitry and present you final report.

  • You will have collaboration opportunity with our international sites.

What You Will Learn:

  • You will gain exposure to global stakeholders and peers at our facilities in Netherlands, India, and the Philippines.

  • You will be introduced to the regulatory and customer compliance in aerospace products.

  • You will take initiative to suggest improvements to product and processes.

  • You will help us advance future product development and innovation of the galley Inserts and chiller product lines.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Knowledge in Circuit analysis, circuit simulation, design documentation maintenance, trade assessments for obsolescence resolution, troubleshooting and resolution of hardware performance issues and hardware integration, test, and verification.

  • Ability to work as part of a team to analyze Hardware / Software test requirements / specifications to determine Hardware and Software requirements.

  • Knowledge in developing solutions to test issues and develop productivity and efficiency enhancements.

  • Interact with test technicians, factory facilitators, other engineers, Quality Assurance and Reliability personnel.

  • Exposure to LabVIEW/data acquisition software, MATLAB, and Minitab

Co-op session length typically runs January through August.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
