Texas Instruments Photolithography Process Development Engineer in Lehi, Utah

Description

Texas Instruments is looking for an exceptional engineer with a fervor for lithography process development to join our dynamic team at the Lehi, Utah Fab. This role offers a thrilling opportunity to push the boundaries of advanced lithography techniques and drive innovation to meet cutting-edge device specifications. As part of our Photolithography Development Team, you'll be at the forefront of implementing lithography shrinks and defining critical requirements to meet ambitious design objectives.

We seek a self-motivated, seasoned engineer to tackle complex technical challenges and contribute to the advancement of analog and embedded semiconductors for vital markets. Your role will involve leveraging your robust data analysis skills—designing, conducting, and interpreting controlled experiments to understand and optimize critical parameters.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with 300mm lithography, Optical Proximity Correction (OPC) data collection, metrology, and lithography software or modeling. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • 300mm Lithography characterization of resist, illumination, overlay, cd control, and metrology

  • Experience using Design of Experiments (DOE) methods

  • Defines processing and equipment requirements and specifications; reviews processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture of products

  • Develop solutions from paper study to process validation to implementation for full-scale manufacturing

  • Resist material qualification and testing methods

  • Simulation of reflectance through simulations

  • Ability to use CAD like software to validate reticle design compared to on wafer CD validation

  • Leading Lithography projects and influencing cross functional teams

  • Data analysis using lithography software and analytical technics

  • Define internal roadmaps for process capability improvement and variation reduction to address yield issues

  • Transfer product technologies from and to TI factories and foundries (including handoff of development at defined milestones)

  • Partner with Process Integration to address loss of baseline yield performance and drive resolution to yield pareto items

  • Process control plan ownership, including SPC, Reaction Mechanisms, Qual Plans, APC, and FMEA

  • Optical Proximity Correction (OPC) pattern validation to ensure final CD is within acceptable delta to target across multiple pitches

  • Develop and implement methodologies to improve development characterization technics to improve speed of qualifications

  • Teamwork interacting with a wide variety of teams (Integration, Manufacturing, Planning)

  • Basic programing experience to efficiently help data collection and streamline analysis

  • Leadership with vendors to define and execute on equipment and process development roadmap

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • 5 years semiconductor experience

  • BS in Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field

  • 300mm Photolithography experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field

  • Demonstration of 300mm Lithography characterization of resist, illumination, overlay, cd control, and metrology setup

  • Demonstration of implementing methodologies to improve Litho process

  • Contributed to blogs, white papers, competitor analysis, conference papers, industry magazines, academic/industry articles and/or published patents

  • Strong foundation in statistical process control, engineering change control and process release strategies

  • Demonstration of leadership

  • Demonstration of Defining internal roadmaps for process capability improvement and variation reduction to address yield issues

  • Immersion lithography experience including: overlay high order corrections and modeling, process correction control system, CD control across field and wafer, defect reduction, and validation of image transfer

  • Photo resist characterization and ability to screen resist vendors to determine best resist for a given application

  • CMOS, SRAM, Analog device physics understanding

  • Illumination SMO simulations using Litho Software packages

  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills including model-based problem solving

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong time management and project management skills that enable multitasking and on-time project delivery

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment

  • Ability to work in high pressure environment to achieve area goals

  • Semiconductor publications indicating work history

  • Data collection, simulation, and verification of Photolithography processes

  • Project management to create Litho track recipes, scanner recipes, and data collection to create Optical Proximity Corrections (OPC)

  • Demonstration of research that has led to a technological solution and was sustainable for volume manufacturing
