The Manager - Product Intelligence & Strategy is a critical leadership role and is instrumental in integrating competitive, market, and regulatory insights into the healthcare product strategy. This role is pivotal in ensuring our products not only meet market demands but also comply with Office of Personnel Management (OPM) requirements and other regulatory standards.

The Manager - Product Intelligence & Strategy, serves as a critical bridge between technical execution and strategic product vision, leading cross-functional teams to innovate and deliver high-quality products that align with business goals and exceed market expectations. Leads Product Insights Team, supporting:

• Competitive & Market Intelligence context and insights

• Actuarial and analytic support for product ideation

• OPM requirements

• Product roadmap impact of all five products

• Updates/changes from Product Owners and line of sight to all

upstream/downstream impacts

Reporting to the VP, Product, the Manager - Product Intelligence & Strategy stands at the forefront of market intelligence and product strategy within the healthcare benefits company. This role demands a visionary leader adept at harnessing competitive, market, and actuarial insights to steer product development and strategic positioning and requires a blend of analytical prowess and strategic thinking to navigate the healthcare landscape. You will lead initiatives to dissect market trends, competitive dynamics, and consumer behavior, translating these insights into actionable strategies that drive product innovation and competitive advantage. Your expertise will guide the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with industry regulations, market needs, and organizational goals.

Provides leadership to a team of analysts and coordinators to achieve strategic product goals including but not limited to product insights, product analysis, contract operations, product roadmaps and product performance to drive product strategy and execution.

SKILLS

  • Lead comprehensive market and competitive intelligence research to inform strategic product decisions.

  • Utilize actuarial and analytical insights for product ideation, ensuring products meet market demands and regulatory requirements.

  • Spearhead the development of product roadmaps, evaluating the impact of product updates and changes, and ensuring coherence with strategic objectives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders, providing actionable insights.

  • Oversee strategic insight initiatives, fostering an environment of innovation and strategic foresight within the product management team.

  • Monitor product updates and changes, understanding their upstream and downstream impacts.

Requirements: Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Healthcare Administration, Actuarial Science, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in product management within a healthcare benefits company.

  • Strong leadership skills and experience mentoring junior team members.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex product ecosystems.

  • Strong understanding of competitive analysis, market intelligence, and actuarial principles

  • Experience with OPM healthcare products and requirements.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of inspiring confidence and collaboration among senior executives and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.

  • Experience in high-level strategic planning and execution within a healthcare benefits organization.

  • Proven history of developing and mentoring high-performing teams in strategic insights and product management.

  • Experience in Health benefits industry or a related field.

  • Familiarity with product management methodologies and frameworks.

Work-at-home requirements

  • Must have the ability to provide a non-cellular High Speed Internet Service such as Fiber, DSL, or cable Modems for a home office.

  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 30x5 (30mpbs download x 5mpbs upload) is required.

  • Latency (ping) response time lower than 80 ms

  • Hotspots, satellite and wireless internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. GEHA considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

The annual base salary range for this position is $113,544 - $160,056 USD.
