YOUR NEW ROLE, WHATS INVOLVED?

As an Associate with the Liveable Places bridges team, you will provide technical leadership to our design and assessment teams and will use your knowledge and skills to deliver the right quality to time and budget. You will use those attributes to lead design teams and to mentor and support junior team members. As an integral part of our high performing Bridge team, which delivers projects for both private sector and our many nation-wide Local Authority clients, such as Westminster City Council, Norfolk County Council, East Sussex County Council, Leeds City Council. You will have the fantastic opportunity to be involved on a wide range of interesting and significant projects - from major bridge schemes through to a diverse range of bridge refurbishment and maintenance improvements as well as bridge inspection and assessment work.

Your role will be at the heart of our team, using your skills and expertise to help us continue driving forward in terms of both technical quality and service efficiency.

YOU WILL:

  • Technical leadership of a variety of bridge/ civil engineering design and assessment projects;

  • Project reviews to optimise solutions and co-ordinate multi-disciplinary inputs;

  • Managing resources and developing relationships with other teams;

  • Agreeing fees and managing the commercial position on projects;

  • Leading a culture of technical review and challenge;

  • Developing client relationships and leading tenders/ bids;

  • Supervision and mentoring of junior members of the team.

WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE

  • Professional qualification and membership with the Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Structural Engineers (CEng MICE or MIStructE);

  • Technical delivery leadership experience on a variety of projects;

  • Practical knowledge and experience of bridge design, maintenance and assessment, including implementation;

  • Understanding and experience of Eurocodes and/ or sector-specific codes and standards (e.g. Network Rail standards, DMRB);

  • Commercial ability and experience of delivery through various contractual models;

  • Good report-writing and reviewing skills;

  • Good communication, client handling and interpersonal skills plus a willingness to adapt to new challenges and to actively participate in the development of others.
