Responsibility and accountability for the management of clinical practice, patient care delivery, human and fiscal resources, compliance with regulatory standards, continuous quality improvement, and fostering interdepartmental and intradepartmental collaborative relationships across the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center operating room. Development, implementation and evaluation of quality, best-practice based, clinical delivery systems to support all perioperative services. Scope of responsibility includes Same Day, Operating Room (OR), the Center for Surgical Innovation (CSI) and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
Provides leadership accountability and oversight for nursing practice and strategies supporting nurses in the delivery of exceptional patient care in the community group practices.
Collaborates with administrative and medical leadership in the implementation of program and services.
Collaborates with administrative and medical leadership to ensure the provision of safe, effective, high quality and cost effective patient care.
Provides nursing leadership, direction, and recognition of professional staff through the advancement of continuous learning and improvement of nursing services.
Participates in the review of patient satisfaction data and comments and shares with team members. Implements activities to improve the patient and family experience in the perioperative setting. Addresses any complaints or concerns. Reviews team member satisfaction and engagement data annually and implements activities to improve engagement. Evaluates turnover risks and implements strategies to reduce turnover.
Leads within the framework of shared governance/distributed decision-making, empowering nurses to make decisions regarding nursing practice issues.
Participates in leadership activities such as committees, professional organizations, publishing, teaching, and research.
Reviews and make recommendations on policy issues in order to align with the organizational and strategic direction.
Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Master’s Degree with demonstrated clinical competency, leadership and education experience with 5 years of administration or directorial experience. Previous management experience in a perioperative environment.
Experience with Process Improvement preferred.
Experience managing a staff of 15 or more a must.
Required Licensure/Certification Skills:
- Licensed Registered Nurse in New Hampshire required.
