SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Sales Specialist is responsible for securing and maintaining non-dues revenue associated with a portfolio of B2B products. This role includes supporting product partnerships and vendor relationships, supporting business development efforts for both new and existing B2B products, and delivering prospecting initiatives to uncover new revenue opportunities. In addition, the Sales Specialist will proactively generate new business leads by cross-selling, upselling, and prospecting within the pipeline, and delivering qualified leads to team members. This role will serve as a central point of contact within the sales team, ensuring the timely and accurate fulfillment of partner deliverables across various programs. Collaborating closely with internal teams, this role will work with the B2B marketing counterpart to align deliverables with marketing initiatives, manage partner deliverables, and ensure timely communication of partner benefits and requirements. Furthermore, the Sales Specialist plays a crucial role in sales operational support and data management, utilizing CRM (Salesforce) and other database tools including HubSpot to maintain sales contacts and leads as well as enhance operational reporting, metrics tracking, and data management. These insights enable data-driven decision-making and contribute to the growth and success of B2B products. The Sales Specialist reports to the Senior Manager, Business Development, Strategic Engagements.

Job Specific Skills:

  • Oversee existing and new product partnerships and vendor relationships for B2B products. This includes contract management, invoicing, monitoring performance metrics, and ensuring that product quality and performance align with terms and expectations.

  • Responsible for collaborating with partners and vendors to optimize product engagement, including driving growth and expansion potential within existing products.

  • Drive prospecting initiatives to uncover and explore new market revenue streams and/or new B2B products. Within prospecting, also identify potential leads for other AAFP strategic engagements and facilitate timely handoffs with internal team members.

  • Engages with B2B marketing counterpart to engage internal marketing, communications, and digital experience teams for activation of partner benefits to ensure the presence and accessibility of B2B products across various channels, seamlessly integrating products into the organization’s member marketing and communication strategies.

  • Maintain and enhance operational reporting, metrics tracking, and data management through tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, PowerBI, and others. Provide critical insights to enable data-driven decision-making and ensure the availability of accurate and actionable data to inform decision-making.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree or knowledge acquired through equivalent work experience, plus a minimum of four years related work experience. Ability to work independently, effectively organize work, and adjust quickly to changing priorities. Maintain accurate and timely data entry and ability to keep detailed tracking of multiple deliverables. Ability to manage difficult customer/vendor situations and to respond promptly to external customer/vendor needs. A professional and highly collaborative attitude is essential. Required experience with Salesforce or other CRM software. Intermediate level knowledge using Microsoft 365 Windows Suite.
