Insight Global Engineering Project Controls Manager in Leawood, Kansas

Job Description

A leading energy client of Insight Global is seeking an Engineering Project Controls Manager to join their team in Leawood, KS! We are looking for an individual who is passionate about ownership and quality. In this role, you will oversee engineering project controls and schedules, requiring the expertise to execute project work effectively. This position reports directly to the VP of Engineering. Your technical knowledge and expertise will have a significant impact on the business by helping to develop project cost controls, unit rates, and schedule deliverables. Additionally, you will play a key role in developing KPIs and facilitating planning sessions for projects.

Position Responsibilities

 - Manage project controls and schedule for engineering on multiple projects

 - Manage project controls and schedules for multiple engineering projects.

 - Ensure compliance with project-specific certified Earned Value Management System.

 - Analyze project reports and recommend actions to mitigate risks.

 - Integrate cost and schedule data with the companys enterprise system to support financial goals.

 - Track budget, project costs, labor hours, schedule updates, and progress for both direct hire and subcontracted work.

 - Maintain planning/scheduling updates, using engineering, procurement, and construction terminology, and develop critical path logic and bar charts.

 - Analyze and forecast project status against baseline schedules; assess impacts of design or construction changes and delays; report schedule status to management and the client.

 - Prepare reports, graphs, and charts to communicate project status.

 - Support change control management and assist with pricing and schedule impacts of change orders.

 - Perform critical path and time impact analysis to document project conditions and changes.

 - Analyze work progress and create productivity reports to update project forecasts and template PowerFLX work.

 - Identify and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the project.

 - Stay current with industry technology and practices, applying them as appropriate.

  • Develop and execute a communication plan to keep team members informed of strategies, goals, policies, and programs.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, construction management, accounting, finance

     - 6+ years of experience executing project controls AND scheduling for engineering projects

       Determining man hours needed, developing KPI's

     - Experience with Earned Value Management System

  • Strong Knowledge of Primavera P6 with a strong understanding of scheduling fundamentals - Proficient with reporting tools such as Power BI

  • Previous experience managing project controls teams. null
