KBR is looking for a Supply Chain Sustainability Lead.

Position Overview / Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

The primary role for this individual is to lead the strategic Sustainable Supply Chain agenda globally across KBR Supply Chain, reporting to the Corporate Sustainable Supply Chain Manager with a particular focus on improving supply chain sustainability. KBR’s Sustainable strategy aligns to the KBR Zero Harm and Net Zero commitments.

To work closely with all business units including government solutions, sustainable technology solutions and corporate to leverage the power of innovation and supply chain to address sustainability topics such as climate change, human rights, environmental protection, etc. at the policy making level.

To foster and develop sustainable supply chain programs aligned with the overall corporate strategy to accelerate KBR’s sustainability achievements both domestically and internationally. The role holder will be required to provides expert guidance in the fields of environmental and social governance, specifically to deliver sustainable procurement and supply chain sustainability programs aligned to ISO 20400:2017.

Key activities will include:

  • Oversee delivery of the Sustainable Supply Chain Charter and associated delivery program,

  • Collate and report data and information to support annual disclosures to external benchmarks,

  • Implement, monitor, and facilitate delivery of the Sustainable Supply Chain Delivery plan.

  • Track data to meet targets, reports, and drive improvements to achieve targets including the requirements set in annual disclosures, improvement plans and deliverables required in support of the GHG Scope 3 reporting agenda (related to the Procurement).

  • Annually refresh policies, strategies, processes and procedures, guidance, and best practice.

  • Draft guidance, tools, scripts for training and maintain the Sustainable Supply Chain SharePoint,

  • Monitor and track alignment to ISO20400, sustainable supply chain strategy and targets.

  • Develop and monitor supplier sustainability benchmarking.

  • Maintain and track sustainable procurement contract clauses and tender pitch book.

  • Develop Improvement plans to improve sustainable procurement scores in external benchmarks.

  • Liaise with Supply Chain Champions / Key Stakeholders/ Senior colleagues in each Business Segment.

  • Analyse data, review performance and report on progress to Corporate Support Services & Sustainable Supply Chain Senior Manager.

  • Host regular meetings and manage day to day a ctivities and requests for support.

  • Support development plan and future activities to build a ‘best in class’ agenda.

    Required Skills & Experience:

As the lead for Sustainable Procurement for KBR across all Business units, the role holder must have the following:

  • A relevant number of years' experience in Environmental and/or Sustainability leadership roles with strong, proactive project management and time management skills; ability to work independently under pressure, and on multiple assignments while maintaining top quality deliverables.

  • Experience working in sustainability within a business context including Carbon reporting, decarbonization, human rights and social impact, diversity and inclusion, sustainable supply chain management, water conversation and environmental protection etc.

  • Support high quality information and data analysis, provide market insight on best practice,

  • Provide quantitative and qualitative analysis to interpret large and diverse data sets to produce sustainable procurement benchmarks.

  • Generate thought leadership, drive knowledge sharing and teamwork.

  • Act as a day-to-day subject matter expert for Sustainable Procurement to provide effective, credible, and timely communications.

  • Seek alignment of practices across diverse business units to establish best practice, develop policies, strategies, processes, guidance, and delivery frameworks to meet targets.

    Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Degree level qualification in related field with additional relevant certifications and membership of an accredited organization (e.g. IEMA) or higher education in environmental sciences, environmental management, engineering, human rights, or sustainability.

  • Proven ability and established relationship working with the key stakeholders.

  • Proven experience in environmental and sustainability performance management and improvement of the supply chain.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), excellent PowerPoint skills and high proficiency in data analysis.

  • Familiarity with reporting standards such as GRI, SABS, Greenhouse Gas Protocol, ISO20400 Sustainable procurement — Guidance.

Communicates the goals/strategy and respective initiatives to all global resources. Demonstrates an understanding of customer’s needs, requirements, values, interests, and strategies.

  • Influence : Generates commitment to ideas and actions by clarifying goals and clearly exchanging information. Promotes ideas and gains support from others. Actively works to lead, coach, and assist the group. Stands firm in the support of organizational integrity and actively integrates the KBR vision, objectives, and core values into all communications and deliverables.

  • Leadership & management: Responsible for managing projects ranging in length from several weeks to many months and project managing a diverse range of stakeholders. Delivering projects to agreed deadlines and budgets, employing complex analysis to solve ESG supply chain issues.

  • Stakeholder interaction & challenges: Regularly interact with a diverse group of stakeholders to provide expertise and progress updates. Support interactions with members of the Executive leadership team. Develop strong relationships with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and at all levels, including senior leaders, will be crucial. Effectively communicate points of view and evidence that shapes Sustainable Procurement decision making.
