Freeport-McMoRan Inc. Security Officer - Climax Mine in Leadville, Colorado
Climax Molybdenum is the world's leading producer of molybdenum and has a long, successful history of doing business in a safe, highly efficient and socially responsible manner. We have operated in Colorado for more than 100 years and today have mining and milling operations near Leadville, Kremmling and Empire. Our Climax mine is located between Frisco and Leadville-the seat of Lake County and the highest incorporated city in the United States.
Employees who are required to work on-site are eligible for a $1,450 monthly housing allowance, provided they meet program guidelines.
Description: - Perform a variety of patrol, security, emergency response and customer service duties at assigned location. - Greets and logs in all visitors and vendors at entrance gate Notifies appropriate personnel or department of arrival Directs visitors and vendors to destination Enforces company policies and procedures - Performs frequent patrols of the property Walks, bicycles, or drives vehicle on irregularly scheduled rounds of property Observes conditions of equipment, grounds and facilities Picks up litter or debris as needed, or arranges clean-up with maintenance crews Reports damages or areas in need of repair to the Maintenance Supervisor - Conducts surveillance of locations or areas in which vandalism or criminal activities have been noted - Assist with and trained for emergency situations Collaborates with police officers in the prevention of crime
Works with fire response units for fire suppression, and with medical emergency response units in the event of emergency situations, at the assigned location - Provides basic emergency medical response (e.g. performs CPR, gives basic first aid) when needed - Performs other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications: - Current CPR and first aid certifications, as required by specific site location - Skilled in responding appropriately to emergency and conflict situations - Knowledge of site rules, regulations, policies and procedures - Knowledgeable of the site topography and locations of emergency equipment and access points - Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications: - High School diploma or GED
