Fresenius Medical Care North America Electrical Engineer in Lawrence, Massachusetts

Position Summary:

As an Electrical Engineer I/II, you will work on electrical engineering activities on development of a class II medical device. You will support in all aspects of the electrical design and integration from concept and feasibility all the way through production launch and sustaining activities. You will be supporting other engineers and use your own potential for future growth. Additionally, you’ll support the roll-out of best practices at Fresenius Medical Care and new technologies as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the design, development, or modification of hardware for a moderate scope of a project by analyzing the hardware requirements and specifications documents.

  • Works on a team to design, develop or modify electronics hardware by analyzing appropriate requirement and

  • specification documents.

  • Selects/evaluates components, creates or modifies specification control drawings, performs schematic entry, analyzes circuits, performs analog/digital simulations and calculation, and evaluates design for testability, manufacturability, and reliability.

  • Authors or edits test protocols/reports and engineering change notices.

  • Debug and test of hardware using software and hardware tools as needed.

  • Participate in hardware design reviews and other related technical reviews.

  • Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

  • Receives general work instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or scientific discipline required; Advanced Degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Up to 3 years experience in electronical product design

  • Proven understanding of product and process development of medical devices is preferred

  • Experience in schematic and PCB design tools such as OrCAD, Allegro and/or Pulsonix

  • Experience with system design, electronics, mechanical and software integration

  • Proven knowledge of design of experiments is welcome

  • Proven knowledge of design for six sigma methodology is welcome

  • Technical understanding of product development methodologies, design, and implementation

  • Proven knowledge of design of experiments is welcome
