ManTech Linux System Engineer in Laurel, Maryland

The Summary: Become an integral part of a diverse teams that delivers enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global workforce performing a wide range of missions in defense of our Nation. It is the contract vehicle for the Enterprise Infrastructure Services organization overseeing MPO’s Enterprise Information Technology (EIT). EIT is MPO’s backbone- platform for all Enterprise users. Data Center & Compute Services is the EIS enabling organization working with customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPT), and vendors to deliver select EIT.

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Linux System Engineer to join our team in Laurel, Maryland.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the development and deployment of Linux software and hardware systems

  • Configuring systems to meet the organization operational needs.

  • Creating and maintaining detailed system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and change management logs.

  • Working with team members to build applications for customers.

  • Provide support and troubleshooting services for customers.

  • Must write scripts to automate tasks.

  • Must be able to create accounts.

  • Must be able to work at late during patching days, and cover a 6am-6pm shift.

Minimum Qualifications: OR Required Qualifications (5 to 7 bullets)

  • Required - TS/SCI with full scope polygraph.

  • Shall have a minimum of fifteen (20) years’ experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in technical discipline is required. (Possibly Waived)

  • Experience with LINUX scripting installing software and hardware.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to analyze user’s requirements and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements.

  • Support the planning and test analysis of the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process.

  • Provide technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of hardware/software systems.

  • Configure and manage LINUX operating systems and installs/loads operating systems software, troubleshoot maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with working all SNOW tickets assigned.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI w/Full Scope Polygraph)

  • Must be a US Citizen

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate must be able to move, carry and deliver workstations from inside the office to customer’s desk. The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
