Applied Physics Laboratory Financial Planning Analyst in Laurel, Maryland

Our newly formed Communications Department is seeking an enthusiastic Financial Planning Analyst to help us champion teamwork, cultivate collaboration, develop and implement sophisticated financial planning initiatives and solutions to achieve our department’s goals. As a Financial Planning Analyst, you will… * Play an active role in estimating the costs, resources, and labor needed to produce COMMs service or products. * Use your financial experience to monitor, analyze, forecast and report on labor, non-labor expenses and resources. * Use excel to provide analysis of actual and projected costs for COMMs Projects. * Maintain financial and budget spreadsheets in order to analyze financial data and prepare accurate and timely financial reports. * Build, update and submit all monthly financial reports. ## Qualifications You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you... * Possess a BS in Finance, Business Administration or other business related degree. * Have 2+ years of experience working within the Federal Government contracting environment. * Are experienced with multitasking, extracting data needs, prioritizing assignments, communicating progress, and meeting deadlines. * Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, are flexible and can easily adapt to changing environments. * Have the proven ability to be a self-starter with a high level of initiative and ability to effectively connect with internal and external customers. * Have a demonstrated record of taking initiative and willingness to project a positive work demeanor. * Are willing and able to work occasional weekends or extended hours to accomplish the team's goals and objectives. You will go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you… * Have Federal Government Financial Management and Contract experience. * Knowledge of FAR, DFAR, and cost accounting standards. * Have a MBA or equivalent Master’s Degree. * Develop dashboards, BI reporting, or other visual reporting techniques.
