Service Operations Inventory Planner

Position Summary
The Service Operations Inventory Planner takes the lead role in controlling inventory across service warehouses throughout North America and Europe. This person will manage all aspects of spares and service inventory including but not limited to forecasting, demand and capacity planning, maintaining stocking levels and all coordinating inventory transactions. The Service Operations Inventory Planner will report on material availability, usage, material out of stock and delay conditions, and on hand values. Communication and cross-functional collaboration between teams at Plug Power to coordinate efforts and clear roadblocks will define success with this position. The Service Operations Inventory Planner is an integral resource for the service team in assisting with resolution of ERP obstacles. This role is critical to ensure that the business is operating to meet product delivery commitments to our customers and keeping system documentation accurate. The ideal candidate for this position should be experienced in the scheduling and coordination of efforts within a technology manufacturing operation while possessing the ability to help drive on-time delivery of quality products to customers. This position is expected to represent Plug Power with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity at all times.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
Analyze inventory usage at service warehouse sites to determine appropriate stocking levels and to forecast usage demand across the fleet.
Evaluate and implement the most efficient methods of transferring inventory across a substantial fleet of customer warehouses.
Manage the service inventory process from start to finish to ensure efficiency within services supply chain.
Partner with the aftermarket support team to manage the requirements of new product releases and component improvements.
Work closely with supply chain to ensure service materials are consistently on-hand meeting quality specifications.
Facilitate new product release and ensure the related configuration to the ERP system before beginning production efforts.
Responsible to manage and report on service planning metrics & KPIs
Identify, prepare, submit, and oversee Avante (ERP system) change requests.
Introduce process improvement initiatives to the inventory management system and other related business processes which help to drive efficiencies, reduce operating costs, and increase inventory accuracy.
Work with cross-functional partners to support a remanufacturing process that allows a well-organized pipeline of qualified remanufactured parts to the service business.
Assist the service team members in non-routine investigations of inventory issues to identify root causes and implement appropriate corrective actions.
Work with Regional Service Managers to control inventory usage, maintain inventory accuracy and ensure appropriate parts are at each customer site.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
Associates degree in business, supply chain, engineering or other relevant field of study is preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of experience preferably in a manufacturing environment; experience in a scheduling capacity for a technology product line.
APIC-CPIM preferred.
Six Sigma green belt or black belt preferred.
Experience and proficiency with ERP systems; Avante experience preferred.
Microsoft Office product experience and proficiency - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access.
Data mining skills with the ability to develop analytics for specific measurements.
