Senior Integration Engineer - NextGen SolutionsStatus: Exempt (salaried)Department: NextGen SolutionsPosition SummaryThe Senior Integration Engineer is responsible for the system integration of mechanical and electrical components used in our next generation hydrogen or fuel cell systems. They will be responsible for creating structured 3D-CAD assemblies, fabrication of prototype parts, building of prototype assemblies, and testing of assemblies and/or complete systems. This role requires close interaction with the other integration team members to ensure efforts are coordinated. The role also requires close interaction with the customer program team, engineering, and sourcing teams to ensure designs meet cross-functional requirements. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment performing testing and troubleshooting on a variety of equipment. This position will play an essential role within the NextGen Solutions Team exploring new applications for fuel cells and supporting customer/partner pilot programs.Principle AccountabilitiesWork with both Plug and 3rd Party vendors, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams to help integrate Plug fuel cell systems into a wide variety of product solutions. Fabrication and Assembly of prototype components and systems.Core Duties and Responsibilities- Build and maintain knowledge regarding Plug technology including current design specifications and constraints.- Work to create new system designs through modification of existing system architectures with a focus upon lower cost, improved manufacturability, increased product performance, and higher overall product quality.- Ability to fabricate mechanical parts and sheet metal assemblies using basic machine shop tools or by utilizing rapid prototyping tools whenever applicable.- Assembly of prototype systems and test apparatus- Use PTC Creo to create prototype component and assembly designs to be used for system integration purposes.- Support testing of sub-assemblies or full systems- Coordinate design changes with multidisciplinary engineering teams.- Lead design changes through the enterprise change process.- Represent Plug in a professional manner in all interactions; support the philosophy of the organization to provide high-performing technology to maximize customer satisfaction.- Perform all other duties as assigned and required within role.- Travel to customer/partner sites to support integration and commissioning activities.Education and Experience- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience.- 10+ years of related work history preferably within a technology product manufacturing environment.- Experience with PTC Creo Parametric (CAD) and Windchill (Product Lifecycle Management) required, working knowledge of other CAD programs beneficial.- Experience with PTC Creo Simulate, ANSYS Mechanical and Star-CCM+ preferred.- Experience with automotive applications and/or electric powertrains is desirable.- Ability to fabricate mechanical parts and sheet metal assemblies.- Ability to debug and troubleshoot mechanical systems.- Effective communication abilities; strength in communicating complex concepts in an understandable form.- Must be able to clearly communicate ideas and issues in written and verbal form.- Supreme organizational abilities and attention to detail.- Teamwork oriented and focused.- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.- Results-oriented and driven work style.- Excellent task-oriented follow-through.Pay Rate:$75,240.00 - $112,860.00We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
