We are looking to hire a Strategic Accounts Manager to support national accounts across North America (US and Canada) . Candidates will need to live near a major airport with the ability to travel roughly 60% of the time.

This is just a high-level overview of the role we need you fill for us

In this position you will be responsible for creating, developing, and maintaining relationships with key leadership positions at assigned strategic accounts and utilize co-discovery and co-creation processes to identify revenue, profitability, and penetration improvement opportunities for these accounts. Co-creation requires coordinating activities for assigned accounts with (as appropriate) Divisional Managers, Regional Managers, Area Sales Leaders, Territory Sales Managers, Product Management, Industry Management, Engineering Management, Technical Support, Supply Chain Management, and other MBS functions as may be required. This position implements and complies with Company initiatives, policies, and procedures.


  • Responsible for key relationships with senior leadership at assigned major accounts. This will be accomplished through regular scheduled interactions to gain knowledge of the strategic direction of the account and review business interaction between MBS and customer. The goal is to develop a coach and/or a sponsor within the account and to insure a long-term business relationship.

  • In collaboration with accounts’ and MBS stakeholders, responsible for co-creating and managing implementation of annual account specific goals and objectives in alignment with the assigned accounts’ and/or MBS’ strategic direction and needs. This will be accomplished by scheduled planning meetings with key stakeholders and mutual agreement to goals.

  • Responsible for coordinating, managing, and responding to RFP’s and RFI’s of assigned accounts. This will be accomplished by coordinating input and feedback from all stakeholders, ensuring the business analysis is completed and seeking and gaining approval.

  • Responsible for monitoring integration of newly acquired business of assigned major accounts to ensure customer obtains what was promised from MBS’ business commitment.

  • Responsible for communicating and collaborating with all appropriate organizational functions on pertinent information concerning assigned accounts.

  • Responsible for maintaining and ensuring hierarchal alignment of accounts within MBS’ systems and for reporting.

  • Responsible for developing and managing Strategic Accounts Management Process, policies and procedures and remaining current with key account management trends. This will be accomplished through regular self-directed and scheduled training (both through MBS resources and available industry resources) and through active reading and research of current industry and account management trends.

  • Informs Sales Manager – National Strategic Accounts regularly on progress to plan and adjusts plan based on feedback received.

  • Accountable for maintaining leadership in selected Regional & National Industry associations (as assigned). This will be accomplished through direct and indirect involvement (whichever is necessary) in assigned associations. This will result in developing industry relationships and gathering key information on industry trends, needs and accomplishments and development of individual.

  • Informs appropriate organizational functions of account activities, competitor activities, and market intelligence.

  • 10 years concrete related industry experience

  • 7 years sales experience, Senior Executive selling experience a plus


  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (in person and virtual) and facilitation skills.

  • Excellent internal and external relationship building skills.

  • Advanced executive selling skills and expertise.

  • Financial analysis skills

  • Excellent writing skills and contract negotiation skills

  • Advanced skills with various digital tools

  • Thorough understanding of concrete mix design and proportioning and use as a construction material.

  • Ability to lead, influence, coach, build team and manage across a matrix without direct authority.
