As a UMR Strategic Account Executive, you'll create the strategic retention and growth plan for customers with the goal of serving and renewing accounts. You'll merge your business savvy and relationship skills to become an extension of the customer's business.
Position in this function is responsible for the development and maintenance of business relationships of assigned customers. Serves in a consultative capacity to ensure customer satisfaction, retention, contract renewal, revenue maintenance, and adding additional lines of business. Provides consultative input in the design of a customer's benefit plan(s) and health and welfare strategy through the relationships established with customers and brokers.
Primary Responsibilities:
The TPA Strategic Account Executive is accountable for servicing and renewing the customer year over year
Customer (employer) loyalty and satisfaction, as measured by survey results and persistency
Establish, cultivate and manage the customer relationship at multiple levels, serving as a healthcare consultant and trusted business advisor to this customer
Establish, cultivate and manage relationships with consultants and brokers, recognizing the value they bring to our customer
Create the strategic retention and growth plan for assigned customer, documenting and maintaining the plan within the formal Business Planning
Strategically plan, negotiate and influence the interactions and relationships with customer, their broker/consultant and internal team members to achieve strategic account goals
Value delivery to customer including plan performance, account management and service results
Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge base of assigned customer, beyond the traditional healthcare-focused information/knowledge, to become an extension of the customer's business
Facilitate the lifecycle of the customer relationship from RFP to renewal, including new customer implementations
Clearly demonstrate the value propositions to upsell specialty and ancillary business and improve customer growth and retention
Select, lead and leverage a team of internal team members as part of the customer's Strategic Account Team to strategically direct the customer’s relationship with UnitedHealth Group
Strategically plan and meet with customers quarterly, identifying trends and offering solutions per the Insight Driven Solutions (IDS) consultative and solutioning process
Prepare, host and follow-up an annual strategic planning session with the customer
Determine and clearly articulate the value story, trend drivers and tracking of solutions performance to the customer
Participates in or represents account management in special projects
Provides sales and marketing support through participation in finalist presentations and participates in Health and Benefit Fairs for assigned customers
Assists in training and mentoring new SAEs and other Account Management team members
Performs other duties as required

Required Qualifications:
State health insurance license or willing to obtain at hire
Life insurance licenses, or the ability to obtain within 3 months from start date
5+ years of progressively more responsible sales and/or service experience
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of strategic and consultative sales and/or account management experience
TPA experience
Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
