The program provides hands-on experience in the innovative Single Family Rental REIT industry, enabling you to gain a comprehensive understanding of this groundbreaking field. By the end of the program, interns will have gained valuable skills and knowledge that will be beneficial in their future careers.
The Purchasing Intern will gain a better understanding of the various silos within the purchasing department and how each segment contributes to the operational success of a real estate industry leader. The internship provides a unique opportunity to be center among operational decisions that drive pricing, product selection and supplier management. This internship is designed to be educational and provide university students with indispensable experience and skills necessary to anyone looking to pursue Purchasing or Operations as a career.

Internship Learning Objectives/Task Goals:
Gain experience and real-world training in the following:
Competitive sourcing tactics that prioritize quality products, cost savings, and ethical supply chain standards.
Advanced Excel formulas
Setting inventory levels
Vendor relationship management
Learn how to cultivate and support strong supplier relationships to meet operational goals.
Learn how to recruit top quality trade partnerships to power residential operations.
Gain an understanding of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and its requirements for business management. Learn best management practices to implement internal controls for data security and consumer protections.
Enrolled in or graduated from a university program.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of all aspects of job responsibilities.
Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical, and professional manner.
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite, including MS Excel.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and effectively prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects.
Must have a strong work ethic and a positive attitude; dependable, require minimal supervision.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Results-driven achiever with exemplary planning and organizational skills, along with a high degree of detail orientation.
Robust assessment, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Availability to commit to 40 hours per week.
This is a paid internship, however AMH does not provide housing, relocation, or transportation assistance.
