The Mob Museum Multimedia Specialist in Las Vegas, Nevada
Reporting to the Vice President of Exhibits and Programs, the Multimedia Specialist works closely with members of the IT/AV and Marketing departments, and others to coordinate, develop, and implement an array of multimedia projects, from interactive experiences in the Museum to videos, podcasts, and other content for the website, app and social media platforms. Utilizing a combination of creative and technical skills, the Multimedia Specialist completes projects from conception to implementation. This position also supports exhibit development, educational outreach, public programs, collections, and retail product development projects.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
Take leading creative role in the development of dynamic digital, audio, and video content for interactive exhibits, websites, apps, and social media platforms.
Take a leading role in coordinating key players inside and outside the organization to develop multimedia projects in an effective and timely manner.
Serve as department’s lead for development of dynamic content for social media platforms.
Provide content and support to videographer in the creation of video for exhibits, website, and other platforms.
Provide content and support to web developers in the creation of website and app content.
Assist Director of Public Programs with creation of digital content for public programs.
Assist Educational Programs Manager with creation of digital content for educational outreach presentations.
Explore and develop opportunities to introduce cutting-edge AR, VR and holographic technology into the Museum experience.
Work with Collections Specialist and others to design and develop digital exhibits.
Study and interpret analytics to determine the effectiveness of multimedia products and make continual improvements.
Stay up-to-date and well informed on the latest trends, breakthroughs, and best practices in the use of communications technology.
Aid in fostering an organizational culture that values innovation, promotes inclusion, and inspires excellence in the work environment.
Experience / Qualifications / Requirements:
At least 5 years of work experience developing multimedia content; experience developing content in a museum setting is preferred.
Demonstrated research and writing abilities to communicate effectively in a range of media formats and intended audiences.
Skills and experience using graphic design, digital and video software, including video and audio editing software, PhotoShop, InDesign, and WordPress.
Strong oral communication and public speaking skills.
Flexible, innovative, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, collaborate across departments, and meet deadlines.
Strong organizational skills and software competency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Able to interact effectively with broad spectrum of age levels and cultural backgrounds.
Proven ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, vendors, community organizations and the public.
Able to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
Physical ability to evaluate audio and visual multimedia elements and aesthetics.

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in a subject relevant to the position. Master’s degree preferred.
