MGM Resorts International Lead Solutions Architect (Corporate) in Las Vegas, Nevada

The Lead Solutions Architect designs technology applications and services to support the needs of the business while working and integrating the technical and business teams to formulate the design plan that factors wise technology investments and risks that provides value to the organization. The Lead Solutions Architect must have a deep technical understanding of n-tiered application design patterns as well as an in-depth technical knowledge of the design of several enterprise level systems such as Opera, InfoGenesis, Patron Management, Microsoft Dynamics, etc. Recommends application architecture to align with current technology standards. Assists where needed with root cause analysis of problems and incidents associated with applications and services. Partners with IT and business groups to define technology system scope, SLAs, objectives, and requirements. Drives merging business requirements with technical software solutions. Maintains working knowledge of industry directions/standards and recommends for integration into our portfolio. Coach and mentor other team members as warranted.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and develop short & long term strategic technology solutions with future proofed designs while collaborating with peers and stakeholders. Additionally, will provide tier 3 support of all enterprise-level solutions based on business requirements.

  • Analyze business requirements (functional and technical) by conducting information gathering meetings with project managers, business analysts and business stakeholders, analyzing information and prioritizing requirements to gain a clear understanding of business needs.

  • Provide technical evaluations and consulting support for projects as required by business partners. This includes owning and be accountable for designing and maintaining Solution Design Documents. Assist with creating and troubleshooting firewall rules.

  • Own, develop and document operating practices and standards. Consults with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement software applications.

  • Key subject matter expert leader for advanced troubleshooting and resolution from a tier 3, SEV 1 and SEV 2 perspective.

  • Evaluate and develop MGM Resorts applications and solution roadmaps. Maintains currency in system applications software releases, operating systems and methodologies to support architecture based on best practice and performance. Evaluate emerging technologies such as Cloud platform, RESTful, GraphQL, Kubernetes, etc.

  • Coach and mentor other team members as warranted.

  • Perform other job-related duties as requested.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in a similar/related field.

  • Eight (8)+ years experience in the computing field.

PREFERRED:

  • Master's Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Prior experience using diagnostic, monitoring and change management tools.

  • Prior experience with disaster recovery planning and execution.

  • Red Hat Certified Architect preferred.

  • Other platform and system certifications by industry recognized organizations preferred.

  • Large enterprise experience that includes at least 5 years as an architect/designer or at least 8 years as a developer/engineer.

  • Previous experience designing and implementing server and storage enterprise level systems solutions.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Valid Gaming License.
