Job Summary and Qualifications
Experience in hospital plant operations and construction/ construction project management is strongly preferred
You will plan, organize, direct, and control the activities of Plant Operation Department personnel to provide effective upkeep of equipment and facilities in accordance with policies, procedures, standards, and practices set by Healthtrust, Inc., the State Department of Public Health, and other local community and governmental agencies, under the general administrative direction of the COO of MountainView Hospital
You will administer and supervise the preventative maintenance program to ensure uninterrupted operation of the entire physical plant
You will monitor departmental personnel matters and makes recommendations such as selection, training, promotion, discipline, and termination
You will schedule and supervise maintenance repair work, alterations, remodeling, minor construction, and inspects installation and servicing of mechanical and electrical equipment and building systems
You will act as Facility Fire Marshall, and coordinate all fire prevention & safety measures throughout the hospital, including fire & safety inspections and procedures
You will work closely with other departments and administration, negotiate priorities, plans, & contracts, plans work schedules, makes job assignments, and orders needed materials, supplies, and parts, and recommend use of outside specialty contractors as circumstances indicate
What qualifications you will need:
High school graduate or equivalent, approved apprenticeship program, or journeyman program
5 years of supervisory/management experience in healthcare engineering setting
Experience in hospital plant operations and construction/ construction project management is strongly preferred
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 lbs
Must have good visual & aural acuity for paperwork and work involving the computer and telephone
Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal & writing
