Description:

Summary: Mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and procedures. Delivers exceptional guest service as defined by management. Trains and leads other bar staff. Assists department management team with the successful day to day operations of the Bar department on the assigned shift.

Essential Functions:

  • Trains new bar staff. Provides daily direction to assigned staff and follows up with staff to ensure direction was followed and work completed

  • Notifies Beverage management team of daily happenings and any concerns and/or material updates with staff and/or operations

  • Performs some of the Beverage management team’s duties, when assigned, in the absence of management.

  • Complete opening and closing duties.

  • Obtain assigned bank as necessary and ensure accuracy of contracted monies. Keep bank secure at all times.

  • Inspect cleanliness and condition of bar, guest and service areas; rectify any deficiencies.

  • Ensure that all drink orders from servers are accurately rung into the P.O.S. system before serving drinks.

  • Prepare and serve all drink orders for guests according to outlet recipes.

  • Provide club service for designated beverages.

  • Present guest checks and process payments. Adhere to all cash handling and credit policies/procedures.

  • Close all guest checks in the P.O.S. system immediately upon payment.

  • Direct and assist Apprentice Bartenders and Cocktail Servers in their job functions to ensure smooth and efficient service to guests.

  • Ensure maximum usage of all supplies to attain budgeted beverage cost and to prevent waste.

  • Follow all Clark County Health Codes.

  • Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in the assigned outlet.

  • Maintain knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.

  • Maintain complete knowledge of designated glassware, ingredients, preparation method and garnishes for each drink.

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.

  • Anticipate guests needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, always in a friendly and courteous manner.

  • Be familiar with all hotel services/features/activities to respond to guest inquiries.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Bartender or Apprentice Bartender.

  • Previous leadership experience preferred.

  • Previous experience providing positive guest service.

  • Fluency in English both verbal and written.

  • Provide legible communication.

  • Compute quickly and accurately basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers).

  • Ability to use computers and calculators.

  • Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.

  • Work with minimal supervision.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum of 21 years of age.

Physical Requirements

  • Walk, stand or stoop up to 100% of time.

  • Work for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail.

  • Inspect and/or detect odors to ensure product quality and safety.

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Working inside in a noisy, smoky, and hot or cold environment
