Robert Half Controller in Las Vegas, Nevada

Description We are on the lookout for a Controller to bolster our team in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Controller will be primarily responsible for supervising the financial operations of our local rental car franchise, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing strategic financial insights to facilitate decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the accurate and timely preparation and review of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.

• Lead the annual budget process, ensuring meticulous development and management.

• Monitor the franchise's financial performance against the budget and provide explanations for any variances.

• Supervise everyday accounting operations, such as accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and payroll.

• Ensure the establishment and continuous improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and controls to comply with local, state, and federal regulations.

• Manage all of the franchise's financial transactions and guarantee precise record-keeping.

• Analyze financial data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide valuable insights to management.

• Keep a close eye on cash flow, profitability, and operational efficiency to identify financial risks and opportunities.

• Ensure adherence to tax reporting and filing requirements and coordinate with external tax advisors for the preparation and filing of franchise taxes and other necessary documents.

• Lead internal audits and cooperate with external auditors during financial audits.

• Implement financial policies and procedures that foster business growth and regulatory compliance.

• Manage and mentor the finance and accounting team, providing training and support on financial systems and procedures. Requirements • Possession of a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Controller role or similar capacity

• Expertise in budget processes and controllership

• Profound understanding and application of GAAP accounting principles

• Proven experience in monthly close processes

• Proficiency in preparing financial statements

• Demonstrated ability in variance analysis

• Experience in cash forecasting and financial planning

• Strong leadership skills with a history of managing teams

• Proficiency in using NetSuite or similar financial software.
