Performs highly complex managerial/attorney work. Work involves organizing employee work assignments; interpreting laws and regulations; and providing legal advice, counsel, and assistance in representing the states interest in child support enforcement. Represent the State of Texas at legal proceedings.Plans, organizes, directs, and monitors office performance and takes corrective actions to achieve assigned goals and objectivesSupervises all office personnel, including hiring, evaluating, counseling, and training under the direction of the Regional DirectorSupervises office legal processes under the direction of the Senior Regional AttorneySupervises and monitors the office budgetMonitors and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, policies, procedures, and standards while providing excellent customer serviceResponds to inquiries and resolves issues from agency management, government officials, attorneys, parents, advocacy and community groups and other customersServes as primary office legal counselDevelops and delivers trainingPerforms related work as assignedMaintains relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functionsAttends work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work scheduleEnsures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected informationComplies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or universityEducation: Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degreeLicensed as an attorney by the State of TexasMember in good standing with the State Bar of TexasExperience: Four years of full-time experience working in the following (or closely related) fields: Full-time legal experience as a licensed attorney, two of which must have been in Family LawKnowledge of Family Law and the Texas Family CodeSkill in legal writing, mediation, and negotiationSkill in serving as a trial lawyer, preparing sound opinions, conducting investigations, and performing legal researchSkill in using a personal computer for word-processing and data entry/retrievalSkill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlinesSkill in effective oral and written communicationSkill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision makingAbility to receive and respond positively to constructive feedbackAbility to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environmentAbility to provide excellent customer serviceAbility to work in person at assigned OAG work location, perform all assigned tasks at designated OAG work space within OAG work location, and perform in-person work with coworkers (e.g., collaborating, training, mentoring) for the entirety of every work week (unless on approved leave)Ability to arrange for personal transportation for business-related travelAbility to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSAAbility to lift and relocate 30 lbs.Ability to travel (including overnight travel) up to 25% PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSTexas Child Support ProgramExperience in handling a high-volume legal practiceManagement experienceOther Language: Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak Spanish To apply for a job with the OAG, electronic applications can be submitted through CAPPS Recruit.
