THIS IS A NON-CAREER APPOINTMENT THAT IS LIMITED TO 129 HOURS PER MONTH

Are you an organized and detail-oriented individual with a passion for supporting diversity initiatives? Are you ready to go the extra mile with Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT)? We are seeking a student assistant to work closely with our Transportation Diversity Strategy coordinator and the Workforce Programs and Recruitment Unit manager. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the success of our diversity and workforce recruitment efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Entry and Compilation:Accurately enter and compile data related to MDOT diversity and recruitment programs. Attention to detail is crucial to ensure the integrity of department records.

  • Coordinate Accommodations:Assist in booking accommodations for out-of-state interns, ensuring their comfort and a seamless experience during their stay.

  • Schedule Events:Help schedule and coordinate events related to MDOT diversity initiatives and recruitment efforts. Your organizational skills will be critical in ensuring events run smoothly.

  • Monitor Inboxes:Stay on top of e-mails and communications, responding promptly and professionally to inquiries and requests.

  • Maintain Inventory:Keep track of promotional items and materials related to recruitment efforts, ensuring adequate stock and distribution as needed.

    The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate through the maximum rate of the Student Assistant position. Based on education and experience, candidates will be reviewed to determine what level they are qualified for.

Required Education and Experience

Current enrollment in a vocational or technical school, or post-secondary educational institution. MDOT requires enrollment in at least 6 credit hours per semester/term excluding summers and continuously enrolled and earning the required credits.

Additional Requirements and Information

The student must provide evidence of enrollment or acceptance to an educational institution.

Please submit proof of enrollment which includes unofficial transcripts, an acceptance letter from the college/university (as long as it is for the upcoming semester/term), copy of current semester/term schedule, or a receipt of tuition payment that shows a balance of $0.00. Failure to attach proof of enrollment may result in you being screened out of the process.
