State of Michigan-DTMB ITPA12 - Senior IT Business Analyst in Lansing, Michigan

The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems. This position is with the Agency Services area of DTMB.

 

As a Senior IT Business Analyst, the employee will perform a complete range of information system analyst assignments including, but not limited to, leading initiatives for the Administration area in the support of Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). This position leads design, development, testing, and implementation efforts, and will be looked upon to provide mentoring to other team members. The position will provide guidance and recommendation to leadership on the evaluation and use of new development tools and agency systems and will serve as the liaison between contracted vendors and DTMB.

The position will lead the evaluation efforts and ensure documentation is sufficient to inform DTMB management and the supported client agency of impacts and risks, including disaster recovery planning, to existing IT solutions due to proposed legislation, enhancement requests, or changes in governmental processes and procedures. The employee will also actively lead the development and implementation of assigned client agency IT strategic direction and planning, as well as mentor other DTMB staff to resolve client agency IT issues.

 

SIGNING BONUS:

This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $2,500. Up to $1,250 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). This does not apply to current state employees.

Education

Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 12

Possession of a Bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.

 

Experience

Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 12

Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.

 

Alternate Education and Experience

Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 12

Possession of an associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, information assurance, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, IT project management, or mathematics and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; or two years (4,160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.

 

OR

 

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician, or four years (8,320 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.
