State of Michigan-DTMB IT Division Director for Mi Department of Education & Center for Education Performance & Information in Lansing, Michigan

The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.

 

We are looking for a person who understands the value of public service, wants to help us meet the needs of our citizens, and someone who embraces diversity.  Above all, we are looking for someone that is passionate about Information Technology.  This person needs to be an excellent communicator, meaning they can explain things to an individual or large group in a way the audience can understand and relate to.  A team-oriented mindset and ability to establish and maintain effective relationships are musts.  We need someone who can resolve problems in a timely manner and seek effective solutions.

 

Essential skills include organization, time management and knowing the importance of a timeline.  Someone who is reliable, honest, and keeps commitments to their colleagues and agency partners would be an asset to the team, as well as someone who holds themself and their team members accountable.

 

This position functions as an IT Division Director of an Agency Services Division consisting of a team of technology professionals. This position has responsibility for the development, maintenance, operations, and long-range planning for all IT business solutions and services in support of Michigan Department of Education and the Center for Educational Performance and Information.

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

 

Experience

Senior Executive Business Relationship Administrator 17

Two years of experience as a professional manager or program/staff specialist, or equivalent

experience.
