Guidehouse Database Administrator in Lansing, Michigan

What You Will Do :

  • Perform installation, configuration, customization, maintenance, and performance tuning of databases.

  • Support software developers with database operations including the development of complex SQL, tuning of DML, and creation of stored procedures.

  • Maintain data quality control and data integrity

  • Maintain database integrity, structure, and conduct performance tuning

  • Conduct support tasks such as Performance tuning, Data cleaning and Indexing, security configuration etc.

  • Provide DBA support for production systems and provide DBA services to application development teams, including database creation, and database production support.

  • Perform database version migration, patching and security management.

  • Facilitate database backup and recovery as well as documenting and testing all backup and recovery procedures.

  • Provide development and production support to troubleshoot day-to-day database or related application issues.

What You Will Need :

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree:

  • Associate degree can be substituted with 2 additional years of experience; Or

  • Bachelor’s degree can be substituted with 4 additional years of experience.

  • US Citizenship the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust

  • 2-12 years of IT experience within DBA area

  • Knowledge of database administration in MySQL, MS SQL Server, and/or Oracle.

  • Experience with database replication

  • Experience Database recovery from backups

  • Experience with Query optimization

What Would Be Nice To Have :

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • Experience with Geospatial databases (ESRI)

  • Knowledge in Virtualization, Load Balancing, and Clustering Technologies.

  • Multiple Databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle)

  • Test data generation and database benchmarking

  • Scripting/development skills

  • Experience with Highly Available database configurations

  • Knowledge in Information Security concepts

  • Government experience

The annual salary range for this position is $66,700.00-$100,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
