What’s the job?
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for identifying the elements of an executable work package that should contain (but is not limited to), the work plan (including the process and desired end results), the necessary materials, tools, and permits, and labor requirements prior to passing the work on to scheduling.
Reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and works closely with Maintenance Supervisors & Reliability Engineers.
--- In accordance with using established corporate and group guidelines and procedures, & EHS policies; plans to maximize equipment reliability and availability through effective use of planned maintenance to quickly return equipment to design capability
--- Creates effective and sequenced work plans, maintenance and reliability strategies to effectively execute required work to ensure asset health and overall production quality.
--- Utilizes maintenance planning tools to prioritize work within the facility by identifying and implementing maintenance and reliability activities through the identification of the proper resources, tools and materials.
--- Plans the execution of routine and non-routine repair procedures and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure compliance with the fundamental plant maintenance procedures and practices.
--- Principal contact and liaison person between Maintenance, Operations and other supported departments. The planner ensures that all internal beneficiaries of Maintenance receive timely, efficient and quality service.
--- Responsible for long-range and short-range planning. Long-range planning involves the regular analysis of backlog relative to available resources.
--- Reviews approved work notifications through the CMMS to ensure requests meet minimum requirements of a work order to initiate work plans
--- Provides detailed work plans on documented work orders as required on all non-urgent maintenance activities including Preventative Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), and Corrective Maintenance (CM).
--- Coordinates with Purchasing and Stores to order and reserve materials
--- Assures good housekeeping practices (5S) through auditing, enforces plant rules and safety regulations.
--- Maintains job plan libraries to support required non-routine work, projects and overhauls via the CMMS.
--- Supports common reliability processes and metrics to achieve targeted results from maintenance and reliability practices.
--- Maintains equipment files and databases for most up to date equipment details and efficient work execution.
--- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as needed and / or requested by management.
What do you bring?
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a technical discipline, or five (5) years of equivalent training and experience.
Two years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
Strong electrical and some mechanical expertise in troubleshooting and problem solving.
Possesses strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication ability.
Possess strong organizational skills and work habits.
Previous experience with a CMMS (Maximo, SAP Plant Maintenance, etc.). Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
