Job Title: Welder Helper

Job Description

The manufacturing facility is located in Langley, where you will work as a welder helper utilizing hand and power tools, grinders, and other shop tools on the production line. Your primary tasks will include grinding and finishing pre-welded/fabricated rims, operating belt sanders, grinders, and performing basic MIG welding. Additionally, you will be visually inspecting products for defects, which requires no prior experience as training will be provided. Occasional use of forklifts and overhead cranes will also be part of your responsibilities.

Work Environment

You will be working in a heavy industrial environment with 26 people on the production floor. The shop is large, open, and dedicated to making rims for the mining industry. It can be cold and dirty, but many employees have been with us for over 20 years. You will start on the day shift but must be available for afternoon shifts as well. Day Shift: 6:45 am - 3:05 pm; Afternoon Shift: 2:45pm - 11:15pm.

Responsibilities

• Grind and finish pre-welded/fabricated rims.

• Operate belt sanders, grinders, and other shop tools.

• Perform basic MIG welding.

• Visually inspect products for defects.

• Use forklifts and overhead cranes as needed.

Essential Skills

• 6 months experience in an industrial shop.

• Mechanically inclined.

• Experience with hand and power tools.

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

• Good attitude and eagerness to learn.

• Reliable transportation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• C level welding ticket.

• Overhead crane experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
