We have immediate career growth opportunity with our Information Workplace Services team for a talented Platform Engineer. You will work in a collaborative environment on implementation and integration of hybrid-infrastructure software platforms (Pivotal Cloud Foundry and AWS); maintain a high level of availability for all mission critical software systems; identify and resolve system problems as a key contributor to this dynamic team. This opportunity can be filled at either Langley AFB - Hampton, VA or Hanscom AFB - Bedford, MA.

* This is a Hybrid position: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite; typically three days per week required at the site location.

Basic Qualifications:

-Requires minimum 5 years of platform engineering / support experience to include: three (3) years of experience developing and operating containerized services deployed in production on orchestration platforms such as Cloud Foundry or Kubernetes; building developer platform services and APIs that scale in production; building and sustaining production services using Cloud Infrastructure Providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure; designing or administering Identity and Access Lifecycle Management Operations and controls; building and maintaining continuous delivery pipelines.

-Requires prior experience working in a collaborative environment requiring frequent teaming and written / verbal communication with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.

-Experience managing, reporting, and facilitating certification of access for all in-scope resources (including SaaS, AWS, Azure, CSS managed applications, tools, and systems).

-An Active and transferable U.S. government issued DoD Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

EDUCATION: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience - or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience - or in absence of a degree, minimum 9 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications We Value

Prior experience deploying Platform as a Service (PaaS)

Automating platform management at enterprise scale.

Highly motivated with the ability to provide creative solutions to complex problems.

Experience developing platform APIs that make common software operations scalable and repeatable.

Experience building continuous delivery and integration (CI/CD) pipelines.

Experience responding to software outages and executing postmortem reviews including root cause analyses.

Familiarity with DevSecOps concepts.

Proficiency in scripting via bash, python and/or Powershell.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
