POSITION SUMMARY: 

As a valued member of the Bucks County Department of Parks and Recreation, the parks and recreation operations intern will assist the department in the operation of recreation facilities, programs, and special events. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acquire varied experience with the operation of recreation facilities, including swimming pools, boat rentals, tennis centers, athletic fields, and dog park. 
  • Plan and coordinate special events.
  • Implement and coordinate recreation programs.
  • Prepare and verify recreation facility revenue reports.
  • Conduct program needs assessments. Manage and distribute program equipment and supplies.
  • Work with community organizations on the special use of county parks for programs and events.
  • Develop skills working with the public.
  • Identify and complete a project to be considered for implementation by the department.

  • Currently enrolled in coursework or have completed a degree in Recreation Management, Sports and Recreation Management, or a related field
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently at times
  • Current FBI Fingerprint, PA Child Abuse, and PA Criminal Background Check clearances as required by law.
  • Possess a valid Driver's License
