Woods Services Occupational Therapist in Langhorne, Pennsylvania
Responsible for the evaluation and treatment of clients with developmental, neurological or orthopedic disorders; assists with staff training and environmental assessments; develops and monitors adaptive equipment.
Provide occupational therapy services to clients in individual, group and consultative therapy.
Evaluates clients for perceptual-motor, sensory integration, postural reflexes, upper extremity assessment (bimanual coordination, range of motion, strength, tactile/kinesthetic awareness, fine motor coordination), basic and advanced activities of daily living, feeding skills, work tolerance, developmental levels, life skills, cognitive-perceptual training, etc.
Evaluates for and recommends adaptive feeding equipment.
Participates in Interdisciplinary Team process; completes requisite paperwork per timelines established by Beechwood.
Recommends modifications in residential and classroom settings to facilitate OT goals.
Provides in-service training to staff.
Fabricates splints, based on physician evaluation and prescription.
Directs clients and staff in care and use of splints and adaptive equipment.
Participates in orthopedic clinic.
Consults with physical therapists, speech therapists and adaptive equipment specialist regarding client/program needs.
Keeps accurate records of client’s treatment, tests, reactions and evaluations of progress on a monthly/quarterly report.
Directs activities of COTA, occupational therapy aides and volunteer workers.
Instructs occupational therapy students in occupational theory, treatment and techniques.
Accumulates 24 training hours per year.
Provides training to staff.
Attends and participates in weekly department meetings.
Keeps abreast of new procedures and techniques by reading professional literature, attending continuing educational seminars and professional meetings.
Maintains current CPR and First Aid training.
Performs other duties, as assigned.
Graduate of accredited occupational therapy program; current license in the state of Pennsylvania or be eligible for licensure
PA driver’s license
Able to lift/transfer a minimum of 50 pounds.
