Woods Services Controller in Langhorne, Pennsylvania

The Controller reports to the Vice President, Finance and is responsible for hands-on leadership and operation of Woods’ accounting function. In partnership with Finance leadership, the Controller crafts timely, accurate and informative financial statements, analyses and performance reports. Key responsibilities include oversight of the general accounting function (general ledger system and related platform operation, chart of account design) and core process areas including treasury management and payables. The Controller also leads Woods’ audit process.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 / year; Full-time + Great Benefits!

The Corporate Controller position includes the following elements:

· Oversee and supervise the day to day accounting and finance activities of Woods including direct reporting staff. There will also be contact and coordination with our Affiliates where there are common areas of interest or application.

· Ensure reporting to internal and external customers is completed timely and to a high quality. This includes managing the annual audit process, tax reporting and related tasks.

· Develop and implement necessary policies and controls as needed.

· Be open minded and creative in how department objectives are achieved and services delivered.

· Be responsible for software and systems that impact finance and accounting to ensure it operates to the optimum.

· Be a team player and aware of other Departments needs and actions and their impact to the finance area and coordinate with management accordingly.

· Be seen as a subject matter expert that others look to for guidance.

What traits will the successful candidate have?

This person is required to have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA preferred. A significant period of managerial experience and responsibility is required along with a strong staff management capability. Staff development and satisfaction should be a prominent goal. A strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Great Plains, Prophix) would be a distinct advantage. This person must be passionate for and inspired by the Mission of Woods where service to those needing our help is taken very seriously and all that we do must meet that test.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, CPA preferred.

  • Six (6) years of management level financial and accounting work experience including supervision at a comparable organization or health care provider preferred.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to manage accounting activities and have a strong financial and cost accounting background. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills. Must have excellent computer system and application skills and must be able to manage day to day functions in the finance department. Strong staff supervision and motivational skills required. A commitment to staff development including coaching and mentoring is essential.
