Woods Services Behavior Therapist (NEW COMPETITIVE SALARY) in Langhorne, Pennsylvania
Woods Services, located in Langhorne, PA, provides residential, educational, and community based services to children and adults with a variety of disabilities. Behavior Therapists provide behavior analytic services to small caseloads of clients who exhibit challenging behaviors in the residential, school, and community settings. Applicants should have experience with conducting functional behavior assessments, behavior support plan development, administering criterion-referenced assessment tools, and staff/parent training.
Provide behavior analyst services for individuals on caseload;
Conduct functional behavioral assessments and write reports summarizing results in accordance with state requirements;
Develop positive behavior support/behavior intervention plans utilizing evidence-based interventions;
Train staff/teachers on positive behavior support plans and function-based interventions and monitor fidelity;
Provide ongoing monitoring/analyzing of data and make programming adjustments as needed;
Provide skill acquisition training sessions with individuals on caseload as required by funding agencies and program expectations;
Complete session progress notes using DAP format, monthly clinical summaries, and other paperwork in a timely manner and in compliance with funding agencies and licensing requirements;
Provide input for Biopsychosocial or Psychiatric evaluations as needed;
Conduct weekly/ bi-weekly parent training/family therapy sessions and document sessions;
Participate in inter-disciplinary team meetings monthly, with the program’s psychiatrist and other team members, providing objective data/behavioral graphs to assist in medication management and therapeutic program planning;
Participate in all treatment team meetings and presents progress, barriers, goals, and interventions to the team members;
Consults with all team members regarding individual’s needs, status, and progress and provide expertise to staff in understanding behavioral strengths and needs;
Consult with funding agencies and community providers as needed to ensure the needs of the family and individual are being met while in program as well as when planning for discharge;
Facilitates and documents plans for therapeutic leave for individuals on caseload;
Performs other duties relevant to program operations as defined by the Clinical Director.
Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or related human services field with ABA experience; BCBA preferred.
Background in the development and implementation of behavioral interventions in accordance with highest standards of practice.
Expertise/training in conducting functional behavior assessments.
Knowledge of normal human development and experience providing treatment to individuals with developmental disabilities and/or co-morbid mental health disorders.
Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team framework and manage various levels of family functioning.
Strong organizational and time management skills necessary. Strong clinical leadership skills and ability to work with parents/staff/individuals with varying cognitive abilities and skill levels.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds, pursue individuals on foot, and physically restrain (with appropriate training), bend squat, and reach.
Prior to employment, personnel requirements include professional references, criminal clearances, and child abuse clearances.
Caseloads kept small, 8-12 individuals, due to intensive behavioral programming with strong focus on stabilization, generalization of skills, and possible reunification to a home or a less restrictive setting. Flexible schedule, some evenings and weekends required to meet your caseload's needs. High level of documentation and direct care/collaboration/consultation.
