Thaddeus Stevens College COMPUTER SOFTWARE ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR in Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Primary Responsibilities:

Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology announces an opening for a full-time instructor in Computer Software Engineering Technology.  The instructor will teach courses that cover the fundamentals of web application development (including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a framework-driven language such as Ruby or PHP), database design and management, web and application security, developer ethics, and other related topics.   The instructor will teach the first year courses of the program, and will coordinate the teaching of second year courses by adjunct faculty. Topics covered in the second year will include API and platform integrations, project management workflows and customer/team interaction, and advanced technical topic electives.

  • Modern Application integration methodologies
  • Building a simple REST API
  • Consuming web services via REST API
  • Data analysis process
  • Creating dynamic reports
  • Combining data analysis and report generation
  • Workplace communications
  • Conflict/resolution
  • Managing project expectations
  • Project and team evaluation
  • Customer/team interaction
  • Software design patterns
  • System architecture

     

Requirements: The minimum job requirements for this position are a master's degree in computer science, information and technology, software engineering or a related field or its equivalent and at least five years of professional experience in the software engineering industry. In the alternative, a candidate may hold a bachelor's degree in the aforementioned fields plus a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the software engineering field.  The successful candidate must be competent in business software, and in programming with current technologies and possess interest in keeping pace with new and emerging platforms that will provide the most benefit to students in their career after completion of the program.
