Job Title: Construction Superintendent
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Construction Superintendent to join our team in overseeing the installation of a waste transfer station. This role requires strong leadership, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to ensure quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial and industrial construction, particularly with mechanical and electrical equipment installation.
Responsibilities
Ensure all on-site personnel comply with safety procedures, safety program requirements, and work rules.
Document all violations, notify project management, and recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
Maintain safe working conditions within the assigned area of authority through the execution of corporate safety procedures and adherence to established safe practices.
Ensure corporate quality standards are understood, executed, and enforced within the assigned area of authority by identifying potential problems early.
Lead safety systems and processes to support the achievement of continually improving annual goals.
Coordinate the application of internal and external resources to support maintenance activities, projects, and programs.
Supervise several or all trade groups (electricians, pipefitters, ironworkers, boilermakers, carpenters) working in a particular construction discipline (Mechanical - Rotating Equipment/Machinery).
Assume additional responsibilities or assignments as directed by the supervisor or corporate management.
Essential Skills
Superintendent experience in commercial and industrial construction.
Experience with commissioning mechanical and electrical equipment, conveyor system installations, and process piping.
Proficiency in safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
Ability to read blueprints and layout plans.
Strong organizational skills with experience in Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Superintendent level experience of at least 2-4 years or foreman level experience in a mechanical or electrical experience.
Experience commissioning mechanized equipment for a landfill.
Commercial level construction experience.

Work Environment
You will work for owners of landfills, managing subcontractors as the General Contractor. The role involves travel to various project sites nationwide, starting with a project in San Diego and potentially moving to a project near Portland, OR. You will report to the project manager in NY and oversee the project execution on-site. The position involves working independently or with a small team, ensuring the successful completion of projects.
