  • Job Summary

  • Facilitates the efficient operation of the Family Medical Center by providing day-to-day supervision and leadership. Serves as a liaison between patient and medical support staff. Demonstrates a commitment to professional accountability and growth to maintain and expand knowledge and skills. Contributes to the achievement of the mission and philosophy of the Organization. Contributes to the effective operations of the Organization by demonstrating dependability in job performance.   • Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort

  • Works is performed in an office setting. Involves contact with patients. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and subject to interruption. Contact involves dealing with sick people. Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also stooping, bending, and stretching for files and supplies. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, operate a calculator, telephone, copier, and other such office equipment as necessary. Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be in a normal range for telephone contact. It is necessary to view and type on computer screen for long periods and to work in an environment which can be very stressful. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. independently. A flexible work schedule is required.

  • Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents

  • Education: High school diploma required as well as Associate‚Äôs Degree in Business Administration. Certified Procedural Coder (CPC) required. Experience: Minimum of three to five years in coding and medical office practices can substitute for educational requirement. Previous supervisory experience preferred.

  • EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Skill in operating computer and photocopy machine. Skill in greeting patients and answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner. Ability to speak clearly and concisely. Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instruction. Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetical or numeric systems. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, Associates, and the public.

  • Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations

  • CPT and ICD-9 coding highly desirable.
