Responsibilities

Job Summary:

As a CT Technologist, you play a critical role in providing accurate and timely medical diagnoses to patients. Using computerized tomography (CT) scanners, you produce cross-sectional images of patients’ internal organs and tissues. You follow proper safety protocols and procedures to ensure safe and effective diagnoses.

Your expertise in interpreting physician's scanning instructions, administering contrast materials, preparing and operating CT scan equipment, and positioning patients is essential to capture the appropriate images. You provide basic patient care, maneuver equipment and patients, and submit accurate and timely imaging, patient history documentation, and case charges. In doing so, you support the department's initiatives related to patient and employee satisfaction.

In addition, you perform technical procedures that require independent judgment, initiative, and ingenuity to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. You are accountable for keeping your skills current and continuing your professional development and education. You attend department meetings, learn from radiologists, and stay informed about Virginia Mason Franciscan standards, protocols, and procedures relating to the CT function.

You perform quality assurance audits and activities to ensure timely and complete patient records. You also take on incidental office duties as needed to ensure a highly functioning department and team. Your dedication and hard work make a significant impact on patients' lives and provide physicians with the critical information they need to make informed diagnoses.

Qualifications

Education/Work Experience:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology, (including course work in cross-sectional anatomy and/or demonstrated skill/knowledge in cross-sectional anatomy).

  • One year of work experience as a CT Technologist is preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

  • American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) required

  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Certification required

  • State of Washington Registration as a Radiologic Technologist.

  • CT Registration is preferred.

Pay Range

$35.16 - $54.40 /hour
