Summary:

Tetra Tech's Lakewood, CO office is seeking an experienced and dynamic Principal Water Management Lead to join our team. At Tetra Tech we are committed to excellence, sustainable practices, and innovation.

The Principal Water Management Lead will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and optimization of water management strategies to ensure sustainable water use and compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves strategic planning, business development, engaging with multidisciplinary teams, proposal preparation, client interfacing, providing technical expertise, integration of advanced technologies to enhance water management practices, and more. While the primary market sector for this position will be mining, additional experience in other market sectors is advantageous. Your Role: Develop comprehensive water management strategies that align with corporate sustainability goals and regulatory requirements. Conduct risk assessment and feasibility studies to inform water management planning and decision-making. Ensure all water management activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Prepare and submit required documentation and reports to regulatory agencies. Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of water management projects, including water conservation, treatment, and reuse initiatives. Oversee the monitoring and management of water quality and quantity to minimize environmental impacts. Mentor and develop junior staff. Provide technical and strategic guidance to multidisciplinary teams, including scientists, engineers, etc. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving legislation and industry standards related to water management. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in geology, environmental engineering, or related discipline (engineering, earth science, etc.). Advanced degree and professional certifications are preferred. 15 to 20+ years of environmental experience with a focus on mining and water resources. Must have a solid understanding of the mining and other commercial market sectors including market potential, competition, clients, forecasting, and capture strategy. Dynamic, self-starter with successful experience with operational and program-level leadership, business development, and strategic planning focused on the commercial environmental and mining market sectors. Direct proven account growth/management experience on accounts greater than $1M. Direct proven account portfolio operational leadership supporting and mentoring account and project managers and teams in building relationships, account size and value of the account. Experience developing practice area programs and teams established to service a diversity of clients. Strong network of clients and long-standing established relationships. Strong track record in identifying market trends and opportunities to develop pursuit strategies for specific projects. Ability to delegate project and operation tasks to more junior team members to effectively utilize candidate's strengths is essential. Demonstrated xperience in managing large complex projects and their finances to strong profitability. Skilled in oral and written communication with demonstrated ability developing and delivering effective presentations to customers and management. Specific and in-depth knowledge of engineering and environmental principles regarding groundwater flow, groundwater geochemistry, geotechnical/geological studies, water management program development, water-treatment, groundwater & water-balance modeling, watershed stewardship, environmental impacts, remediation, community impacts, irrigation, regulatory support, water quality, stakeholder engagement and ESG r A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required. Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Target salary range: $130,000 to $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
