Ed Herrington Inc. is currently seeking full-time Yard Sales for daytime Monday – Friday, 7a – 4p, Every other Saturday 7a-3p.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Provides assistance to customers who come to the Yard Sales office to purchase material.

  • Process and invoice materials being paid for in the yard. Process other transactions and orders for all customers. These transactions include delivery orders, customer pickups, quotes, and credits.

  • Opens and monitors assigned register/till each morning to receive payments for goods sold during workday.

  • Obtains credit authorization as necessary for sales.

  • Assists customers loading purchased material into customer’s vehicle within assigned work area.

  • Directs customers to additional pick-up stations as necessary to complete order.

  • Coordinates with various company services in the presentation of Ed Herrington, Inc. services to the customer. Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contracts.

  • Participates in and contributes to discussions of quality improvements to our approach to customer service.

  • Supports Counter Sales and assists at sales counter when necessary to provide outstanding customer service.

  • Maintains customer data records.

  • Provides accurate quotes of basic material lists.

  • Writes orders and schedules initiation of services.

  • Works closely with Pro-Sales staff to provide clerical and customer support.

  • Works with purchasers and Management on inventory levels.

  • Responds to phone inquiries to solve problems, take orders, and sell product. Research new or non-stock products to satisfy customer inquiries, within reason.

  • Reviews orders for ideas to expand services available to current customers/prospective customers.

  • Performs inventory functions, as necessary.

  • Confers with customers and management personnel to resolve concerns.

  • In some locations, may be assigned to:

  • Assist in dispatch of delivery tickets

  • Perform Yard receiving duties

  • Assist in answering incoming phone calls when needed

  • Research and process credits in a timely manner

  • Participates in all required training assignments and trade show attendance.

  • Displays teamwork and effort in performance of all duties.

Supports the goals and objectives of Ed Herrington, Inc. through adherence to company policies, safety guidelines, and work requirements for successful completion of all assignments.


High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee will need to frequently communicate with others and must be able to exchange accurate information. Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment. Frequently needs to lift and/or move items that weigh up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
