Job Description

In this role, you'll handle accounting and budgeting for auxiliary units. You'll review and post campus-wide journal entries, ensuring transactions are accurate and properly authorized. Additionally, you'll perform balance sheet reconciliations, analyze revenue and expenses, and investigate significant variances. You'll also back up other accountants as needed, support executive management with financial presentations and requests, and guide the campus community on policies and procedures. The role requires strong critical thinking, customer service, and organizational skills, along with the ability to work independently and under pressure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Workday, or other ERP systems is essential, as is a solid understanding of GAAP. A bachelor's degree in a related field and five years of accounting experience are required, with higher education and fund accounting experience preferred. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days on-site 2 remote in Lakeland.

Salary: 60,000-75,000

Skills and Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in accounting

 · 5+ years of experience as an Accountant

 · 2+ years of experience in Public Sector background

 · Reconciliation experience

   o Ensuring accuracy, identifying discrepancies, and stating the understanding not just summarizing

Team player attitude Higher Education background in accounting
