Job SummarynnThe Battery Systems Test Engineer will be responsible for supporting bench and customer testing for the development of high-voltage automotive battery packs. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Systems Engineering, Validation, Testing, Product Engineering, Software Engineering, and Program Management, to define and execute development tests that verify system-level requirements at the battery pack level. This role plays a critical part in minimizing design iterations during the Design Validation phase and ensuring the safe operation of battery systems.nnResponsibilitiesnn * Leads the development of the battery system verification test cases and test plans; executes the test plan for the development of battery pack systems to ensure compliance with customer requirements.n * Support problem resolution of issues identified during testing, utilizing the cross-functional engineering team.n * Statistically analyzes the subsequent test data, creates tables/charts, prepares/presents the test reports to internal and external teams, and supports correlation to virtual validation efforts.n * Collaborates with lead system engineers to integrate project-specific system verification test plans and test cases into the requirement management system, updating them, and their traceability.n * Update the team and the requirement management system with test results and support project teams to track the status.n * Supports engineering in the evaluation of the project and technical risk analysis to drive attention and focus of testing and analysis on the highest risk items that need verification, such as Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) outputs.n * Supports and consults validation team on higher risk design validation testing items.n * Supports the development of system inspection requirements for end-of-line testing, from a quality control plan.n * Collaborates with other key functional engineering groups to support and consult with them on their verification-related tasks.n * Adhere to federal and state regulations.n * Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.n * Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.n * Predictable and reliable attendance. nnPosition Qualificationsnn * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience.n * Minimum of three (3) years engineering experience in systems testing, system verification, or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing of lithium-ion battery or Electric Vehicle (EV) projects.n * Experience developing and executing testing on Controller Area Network (CAN) based systems either on the bench or in-vehicle.n * Experienced with the handling of both low and high-voltage lithium-ion battery systems. n * Experienced communicator, capable of concisely presenting highly technical test data to internal and external customers, and cross-functional teams.n * Ability to travel and work flexible hours as needed (less than 10% travel on average).n * Experience with Microsoft office tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).n * Basic lab/shop skills (multimeter, power tools)n * Experience using Minitab, MATLAB/Simulink, and/or other comparable statistical analysis software, particularly with lithium-ion test data.nnPreferred Qualifications:nn * Minimum of five (5) years engineering experience in lithium-ion battery systems testing on production battery pack programs.n * Product experience with Li-Ion batteries, battery pack design, electric vehicles, power systems, alternative energy systems, electronic control units (ECUs), battery management systems (BMS), and sensors.n * Educated on common lithium-ion cell, module, and battery pack test certifications.nnKey Competenciesnn * Decision Making & Analysis: Makes sound decisions based upon a mixture of data-driven analysis, expertise, experience, and judgment; collects relevant information, seeks inp
