The Toro Company Key Account Manager - HammerHead in Lake Mills, Wisconsin

HammerHead delivers a unique combination of rehabilitation, replacement and installation equipment and consumables for the underground construction market. The Key Account Manager will serve as an extension of our global sales team and be responsible for leading and executing Hammerhead’s key account strategy. This position will be required to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with specific and targeted large scale national accounts, contractors, and associations. Other key responsibilities include sales and contract negotiation, implement Voice of Customer to provide solutions that enhance the customers overall business goals, and timely resolution for any issues that arise. This position will maximize market potential by working closely with sales, product marketing, engineering, and operations to drive execution and ensure long term success.

What Will You Do?  

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for :   ​ ​ ​ ​

  • Develop a trusted and long-term partnership with a key account to drive increased revenue and profits while working close with our RSM

  • Identify key strategies needed for new key account opportunities and develop road map for short- and long- term success.

  • Develop a list of new key account opportunities as well as manage our current key accounts with a focused effort on the residential market and driving revenue through consumables

  • Ability to serve as the subject matter expert and partner with TTC and HH Leadership for industry intelligence, opportunities, and ROI/negotiations.

  • Directly manage business relationships needed to maximize and grow sales opportunities. Responsible for managing yearly contracts and negotiated goals

  • Work with sales to establish best channel to market globally.

  • Develop a standardized key account process which will include updated key account customer list, sales / rental quotes, pricing, rebate programs, etc.

  • Responsible to report on the performance of our key accounts.

  • Strong working knowledge of the new product line to drive all aspects needed for marketing, sales, direction, and focus.

  • Represent the company and company products in the industry, in appropriate associations, and corporate accounts to gain market approval.

  • Deliver clear marketing, product and business communication plans.

  • Ability to manage a support the sales team when required to oversee product portfolio.

       

    What Do You Need?  

    To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:   ​

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field

  • 4-7 + years professional experience required - in underground trenchless construction equipment sales is preferred

  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic business plans that include developing clear product vision and direction

  • Innovative mindset to drive new ideas

  • Exceptional communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across the organization

  • Multi-dimensional leader: business acumen, approachable and available, strong communication skills at the key stakeholder level, as well as at the technical and tactical level

  • Excellent PC and ‘Microsoft Office’ literacy

  • CRM or other database management skills

  • A highly organized, flexible and proactive approach to the work environment

  • Have a valid passport

  • Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Other Job-Related Components:

  • Office environment, with some trips to the shop, and outside work

  • Average 60% - 70% air and highway travel. This employee will need to travel to support new Key accounts

  • Regular, extended use of the telephone and computer

  • Rapidly changing demands, schedules, priorities and deadlines
