Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Health Service Coordinator provides general clinical, clerical, and technical support to nurses in IQIPS, to include Nurse Line, Care Management, and Community Health Access, and Patient Care departments. The health service coordinator role requires telephonic interpersonal skills characterized by clear communication in an empathetic and professional manner. The position requires the ability to make decisions consistent with Marshfield Clinic Health Systems’ policy/departmental protocol, with strict observance of patient confidentiality.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: High school degree or equivalent.

Preferred/Optional: Completion of a Medical Terminology course. Graduate of a Health Unit Coordinator Program, Medical Office Specialist, or Medical Secretary program.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated keyboard, computer, and telephone proficiency.

Preferred/Optional: Six months previous experience in a healthcare facility to include direct patient contact or previous customer service experience.
