The Opportunity

This position is on site and works out of our Lake Forest, IL location in the Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Division. We are also open to the person working out of our Carlsbad, CA location. We’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. What You’ll Work On

Plan, direct, and monitor all supply and logistics activities to ensure a cost-effective flow of merchandise from suppliers to customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily supply and logistics operations to enhance the efficiency, reliability, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness of the organization’s supply chain.

  • Allocate resources to achieve targets in areas such as transit and delivery times, inventory levels, purchasing, warehousing, storage costs, and service standards.

  • Coordinate with managers in functional and operational areas (e.g., customer service, sales, production planning) to ensure supply activities are integrated with other business functions.

  • Mentor staff to ensure effective use of resources and achievement of work schedules and targets.

Supply Planning Manager Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage mid-to-long-term supply plans that support demand requirements and align with financial plans.

  • Implement medium and long-term supply chain strategies and networks to address capacity issues, ensure continuity of supply, and support business growth.

  • Manage mid-to-long-term supply planning activities, including supply and demand balancing and long-term capacity planning.

  • Collaborate with Demand and Supply Chain teams to translate and validate demand plans over a 3 to 18-month horizon.

  • Identify key data needs, metrics, and inputs to drive informed business decisions.

  • Communicate plan changes, risks, and overall process performance.

  • Lead monthly supply planning meetings with manufacturing locations and materials teams to align supply plans with demand plans.

  • Work with Sales, Demand Planning, Material Managers, and Production Planning teams to address capacity issues and support long-term sales demand.

  • Measure, analyze, and report key supply metrics, monitoring adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Manage long-term rough-cut capacity views with scenario planning, identifying constraints and escalating exceptions with suggested solutions.

  • Identify, resolve, and escalate supply chain risks, including production disruptions and inventory shortages.

  • Provide regular updates on supply status, risks, and opportunities to key internal partners.

  • Lead the Inventory Management Process for the designated business unit.

  • Manage inventory of new and phase-out products through the product life cycle management process.

  • Play a key role in E&O inventory reviews, root cause analysis, and developing action plans to reduce excess inventory.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree

  • 7 years of similar work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4 years or more of experience using JD Edwards, SAP or similar tools

  • 4 years or more of experience in Excel Spreadsheets (expert level)

  • Certifications in Supplier Sourcing/Planning or similar

  • Work experience in previous role being similar to this role in level and scope.

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
