Robert Half Sr. Employment Paralegal in Lake Forest, Illinois

Description

A global distribution company HQ in Lake Forest is looking for a Senior Paralegal to join their Employment Law Team, where they will report to the Assistant General Counsel, Employment & Labor. The role involves supporting various areas within the Legal department, focusing on matters related to employment, HR, and benefits.

Job Duties:

  • Oversee databases and other information containing employment-related matters and litigation, working with internal and external partners to keep databases up-to-date.

  • Develop and analyze data reports on employment and labor issues.

  • Assist with collection and organization of data to support investigatory activities on employment-related claims.

  • Support in-house and outside counsel in managing federal and state pretrial and court proceedings.

  • Prepare legal documents for attorney review, approval, and use.

  • Analyze data and written reports when asked.

  • Carry out research on employment-related topics.

  • Manage and update department files.

  • Abide by company records management policies and processes.

  • Assist in managing document collection and analysis in response to discovery requests and government agency inquiries.

  • Stay up-to-date with legislation, rules, regulations, and court decisions in EEO law.

  • Collaborate with company personnel and outside counsel to prepare discovery documents.

  • Provide administrative support, such as database management, scheduling, letter drafting, travel booking, and report creation.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Paralegal Certification.

  • Minimum one year of experience in a corporate law department or law firm.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

  • Team player with effective collaboration skills.

  • Excellent research, analytical skills, and attention to detail.

  • Understanding of current employment and HR laws and developments.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, eDiscovery, and e-Billing software.

  • Ability to understand the company's business operations and organizational structure deeply.
