The Opportunity

Our Rapid Diagnostics Division is looking for an experienced Product Marketing Manager, to join our Infectious Diseases, US Commercial team and will be based out of our office location in Lake Forest, Illinois . This individual will be responsible for marketing activities for the assigned product lines, including development, management, and execution of strategies and tactical programs to achieve business plan objectives and goals.

What You’ll Work On

  • On-Market Product Strategy & Execution for assigned product line:

  • Lead all marketing activity associated with product line(s) or business(es)

  • Provide marketing support for the US sales organization as the voice of the product both internally and externally (e.g. customer meetings and tradeshows)

  • Develop annual plans, including product positioning and competitive selling strategies, and gain leadership buy in to grow product sales, profit, and share

  • Generate market and competitive analyses to identify market trends, customer requirements and competitive strategy, and inform marketing campaigns and strategies that defend and take share

  • Maintain product demand forecast to ensure effective inventory management and support financial planning

  • Train sales personnel on product positioning, marketing strategy and competitive value propositions

  • Distributor Marketing:

  • Lead collaboration between Abbott and distributors’ marketing teams to develop and execute annual marketing calendars

  • Build expertise and act as Subject Matter Expert on distributor-specific marketing tactics to enable innovative approaches that capture mindshare

  • Collaborate with MarComm and Product Marketing Managers to develop and implement best-in-class collateral for distributor marketing programs including: Promotions, Webinars, Website Updates, and Digital Media

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives, including: global & US marketing, sales, legal, regulatory, and medical affairs, manufacturing, logistics, public affairs, creative and strategy agencies, vendors, retail buyers, and health care professionals

  • Apply disciplined, fact-based judgment to recommendations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • 4+ years of product marketing management experience with a proven track record

  • Strong written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders

  • Demonstrated cross-functional leadership and collaboration skills

  • Excellent quantitative, analytic, and problem-solving skills

  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA

  • Experience with diagnostics or medical device distributors and distributor models

  • Familiar with highly regulated diagnostics and/or medical devices environment(s)

  • Experience and proficiency with P&L / budget management

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
