Responsibilities

  • Develop digital solutions that address unmet needs, provide new insights or identify opportunities for growth.

  • Utilize digital solutions to enable more effective strategic, tactical and operational insights to support business functions.

  • Extract big data and transform it into actionable information for users by using the data visualization software Tableau and/or Power Bi.

  • Determine best methods to extract, model, manipulate, and present data that meets the requirements of the business.

  • Assist in the identification of opportunities across functional areas where the application of improved data would create value for the user.

  • Assist the Digital Transformation office with the development of digital reporting and tracking solutions for major company initiatives.

  • Work cross-functionally with groups such as IT, Finance and Logistics.

  • Assist in the creation and documentation of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) projects aimed at process improvement.

  • Assist in the development and coding of RPA solutions using the platform Automation Anywhere

  • As an intern, you will also have the opportunity to:

  • Take a tour of a local Pactiv Evergreen manufacturing facility (TBD).

  • Partake in any outside work networking events that you choose.

MENTORS, COACHES & MANAGERS

As a Pactiv Evergreen Intern, you will be assigned a mentor and a coach. Mentors are meant to represent a peer to peer relationship whereas coaches are meant to ensure personal and professional goals are met. Below you will find details on the Mentor & Coach Role.

Mentor:

The relationship between the mentor and intern is meant to resemble a peer to peer relationship and is intended to be informal. Some of the specific responsibilities of the mentor are as follows:

  • Help familiarize the intern with the organization, the office (where things are) and general “good to know” things about working at Pactiv Evergreen.

  • Provide guidance and build a supportive relationship with the intern. Make the intern feel comfortable and included. Include them in lunch groups, outside work events, etc.

  • Serve as a contact for general questions and advice on topics the intern may not feel comfortable asking of their supervisor/manager.

  • Be available to answer general questions pertaining to their project. For example, questions such as system access, who to contact for information or advice on how to interpret manager directions/instructions.

  • Have an “open door” policy and routinely touch base with intern to see how thing are progressing and whether they have any questions.

  • Scheduled meeting are not necessary as the relationship & communication should be informal, continuous and last the duration of the internship program.

Coach:

The coach is a current full-time Pactiv Evergreen employee in a management position. The relationship between the coach and the intern is meant to be more formal than the mentor relationship. The relationship is focused on the personal and professional growth of the intern during the program. Some of the specific responsibilities of the coach are as follows:

  • Be able perform the same responsibilities of the mentor listed above

  • Understand the goals and aspirations of the intern.

  • Ensure the intern’s assigned projects are aligned with their goals and aspirations of the program.

  • Ensure the intern is getting the proper training, management and guidance on assigned projects.

  • Resolve any issues arise during the internship.

  • Understand how the intern is performing relative to expectations and project objectives by maintaining consistent contact with the intern’s manager and those they are working closely with.

  • Review with the intern’s manager and SME the intern’s performance evaluations.

  • Scheduled meeting are encouraged to occur once every other week, at a minimum.

Manager:

The manager is who the intern reports to. The relationship between the manager and the intern is meant to resemble the typical manager/ team member relationship. The specific responsibilities of the manager are as follows:

  • Explain the intern’s role on projects and communicate expectations.

  • Assign interns to specific projects within the scope of the internship.

  • Review project charters with the intern before introducing them to the Project SME.

  • Introduce the intern to the SME.

  • Maintain consistent contact with intern while they work on projects for SMEs.

  • Maintain consistent contact with the project SME to understand how the intern is performing.

  • Be available for project specific questions and non-project specific questions.

  • Review with the coach and SME, the intern’s performance evaluations.
