Job Summary

We are seeking a creative and driven individual to initiate and develop innovative product ideas and concepts that address genuine consumer needs. In collaboration with our Engineering, Marketing and Operations team, you will lead efforts to validate and realize these ideas, ensuring that all designs meet both external and internal consumer needs as well as overall program objectives. Additionally, you will proactively explore and integrate new technologies that can enhance our offerings and drive company growth.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • (50%) Generate, develop and validate novel concepts and product ideas. Demonstrate strong problem solving and analytical skills. Use analytic software and/or prototyping to demonstrate feasibility of complex mechanical solutions. Solid understanding of mechanisms and manufacturing processes, including stamping , forming, MIM, Molding, forging, machining, etc.) . Conduct research, evaluate complex design challenges, and develop robust solutions. Responsible for taking product innovations from ideation to validation. Lead ideation, development, and feasibility evaluation for new product concepts of high technical complexity.

  • (20%) Collaborate with Engineering team members to ensure projects success. Serve as liaison to Marketing, Sales and Management to align on customers product requirements, and provides expert technical advice and recommendations

  • (15%) Create patent disclosures, identify novel design features, and translate them into patent claims. Perform patent searches and understand patent claims. Assist patent attorneys to craft claims to gain the broadest protection possible.

  • (10%) Maintain an advanced level of professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, technical publications, and benchmarking best practices. Actively coach and mentor Engineering team members, guiding them through concept development and identifying challenges to steer projects effectively.

  • (5%) Manage and track multiple projects to ensure adherence to schedule requirements. Implement best practices in creating and maintaining project and Engineering documentation.

    Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • 7+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a high-volume consumer products industry.

  • Proficiency in Creo Parametric or SolidWorks.

  • Experience in designing complex mechanisms and solving challenging mechanical problems.

  • Highly technical and hands-on engineer capable of providing innovative design solutions to resolve complex issues, with a strong ability to navigate processes effectively.

  • Demonstrate a positive, "can-do" attitude with a high degree of accountability; take pride in delivering quality work.

  • Solid understanding of product manufacturing and assembly processes: Stamping, Die Casting, Molding, Machining, and others.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Effective computer skills familiar with Microsoft Windows applications, especially Project, Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Must be able to work and thrive in a global team-based environment.

  • High level of organization skills.

  • Guide/mentor less experienced team members with technical and project management processes.

  • Be able to develop and lead a complicated technical program.

    Additional Desired Qualification

  • Understanding of Design for Six Sigma.

  • Experience in designing high volume consumer goods.

    Work Environment:

    Working conditions are normal for an office environment.

    Pay Range: $100,545-$147,466.

    This “base salary range” is a reasonable estimate for this position at the time of posting. Pay within each range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, to primary work job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
